MK Roman Bronfman said that “the rabbis must decide between loyalty to the state and an ideological messianism,” in response to calls on Israelis to rebel against the government by religious leaders from Judea, Samaria, and Gaza.
“Since they are working for the state, their call for rebellion against it is an injury against democracy, that will in the end bring about a welcome separation between religion and state,” said Bronfman. (Efrat Weiss)
