Iran's president calls for better relations with outside world
ran's ultraconservative president-elect Monday dismissed allegations of his involvement in the 1979 hostage-taking at the U.S. embassy in Tehran and in killing dissidents as baseless and said Iran was seeking "Fair and expanding" relations with the world.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's comments came a day after Tehran denounced the claims against him as part of a campaign engineered by the United States and Israel to smear the new Iranian leader. (AP)
