JERUSALEM - Jewish leaders from 19 countries and teenagers from the "Kav Hazinuk" (“Starting Line”) program participated in this week's KolDor conference, which took place in Jerusalem and Rosh Hanikra.

During the conference, youth leaders from the "Kav Hazinuk" program met with 120 world Jewish leaders and took part in the conference's various sessions.

"Kav Hazinuk" is a 10-year-old program that chooses prominent Israeli teenagers to participate in a leadership seminar. The program applies a holistic approach to leadership development by focusing on the emotional, cognitive and entrepreneurial growth of participants.

Leadership training

Participants have personal meetings with role models and leaders from all aspects of Israeli society, outdoor training, one-on-one coaching, and practical leadership drills (such as initiating and running an outreach project).

Ivri Verbin, a founding member of KolDor, said the organization has an obligation to address the needs of a changing Jewish world.

"We are beginning a unique cooperation between the current generation of world Jewish leaders and the next generation," he said. "The thoughts and needs of our young leaders is a great factor in defining the new world Jewish agenda and we have an obligation to address those needs."
