Following the accident, Akmayev and his nine-month-old daughter, Hadas, were hospitalized at the Sheba Medical Center near Tel Aviv.

His is in moderate condition and his daughter is hospitalized in serious condition in the pediatrics intensive care unit.

Surrounded by support

The couple become religious several years ago and were attached to the ultra-Orthodox world.

Rabbis and yeshiva students accompanied Olga as she was laid to rest and offered support to Akmeyov who is now left to raise their daughter alone.

"We cannot understand why a disaster like this has happened to these people," Kiryat Gat Rabbi Moshe Hablin said. "Olga was a modest woman who was faithful to the Torah."

Hablin pledged to help Akmayev in his rehabilitation and assist him in raising his daughter.
