KolDor, which translates as both “Voice of the Generation” and "Every Generation," is a not-for-profit, grassroots organization of young Jewish leaders from a wide range of backgrounds who are seeking to forge an inclusive platform for the Jewish people in the 21st century.
Through their embrace of global technology KolDor, wants to reflect the voice of the new generation and to put that voice into action regardless of geographical boundaries or political and religious affiliations.
This year's conference will focus on issues including:
- What does it mean, in feeling and in action, to be part of the Jewish people today?
- What are the central Jewish values that should be at the heart of every Jewish program?
- What does it mean today for Israel, beyond demographics, to be the Jewish state?
- How should Jews help make Israel represent the best of what it is to be Jewish.
Following the discussion stage, the conference will review operational applications of projects and goals.
The majority of the participants are key figures in Jewish and Israeli communities of 16 nations ranging in age from 30-45, who represent a variety of opinions, institutional and religious affiliation, origin and occupations. They will meet with professionals and opinion makers from Israel and the world including Arnon Mantver, director of Jewish Joint Distribution Committee's Israel arm, Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski, Stephen E. Herbits, secretary general of the World Jewish Congress and Prof. Yehezkel Dror, founding president of the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute.
The 2005 Conference is sponsored by Teva and Bank Hapoalim which donated thousands of NIS.
