SDEROT – Two Qassam rockets landed in an open area near the southern town of Sderot Thursday afternoon.
No injuries or damages were reported in the attack, the latest in a series of mortar and rocket strikes originating in Gaza in recent days.
Police forces were promptly dispatched to the scene in a bid to pinpoint the exact location of the rocket hits.
Gaza violence growing
Earlier Thursday, Palestinian fired another Qassam rocket, which landed in an open area near the southern Gaza Strip security fence. No injuries or damages were reported in that incident either.
On Wednesday, the Air Force fired at a mortar-launching cell in the Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis. Three Hamas members who were nearby escaped unharmed.
A short while later, the Palestinians fired at least three mortar shells at two Gaza Strip settlements.
Palestinian and Israeli officials are concerned the volatile situation in Gaza could escalate, as terror groups have increasingly engaged in massive rocket and mortar attacks on Israeli communities.
