Bulgaria's president Georgi Parvanov flew to Libya on Saturday to meet children with HIV days before a court rules on an appeal by Bulgarian nurses sentenced to death for infecting more than 400 children with the deadly virus.
Five female Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor were sentenced to death by firing squad last year for deliberately giving HIV-tainted blood to 426 children. (Reuters)
