Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said Saturday he will demand President George W. Bush provide the Palestinians with strong political and financial support during a meeting next Thursday.
Congress recently approved a USD 275 million financial aid package for the Palestinians to help bolster their economy and security forces, and it is expected to consider an additional USD160 million next year, said USAID spokeswoman Sylvana Foa. (AP)
