Taiwan voters went to the polls on Saturday to elect a government body that will decide on constitutional amendments in a race viewed as a vote of confidence on President Chen Shui-bian's policy towards China.

Voters cast ballots to elect 300 delegates to the ad hoc government body, which has the sole task of ratifying constitutional amendments dealing mostly with domestic political and electoral reforms approved by parliament last year. (Reuters)
